Towns we cover

Tyler, TX

About 106,000 people (2020 Census) and the county seat. Pools need a city permit through eTRAKiT, must sit at least 5 ft from the house, and need a 4 ft barrier in single-family zones.

Whitehouse, TX

About 8,300 people just southeast of Tyler. Whitehouse has its own city hall for permits, and several Tyler builders list it in their service areas.

Lindale, TX

About 6,100 people north of Tyler along I-20. A separate city, so the permit and fence rules come from Lindale, not Tyler.

Bullard, TX

About 3,300 people on US 69 south of Tyler, up from 2,500 in 2010. The town straddles Smith and Cherokee counties, so check which side your lot is on.

Flint, TX

An unincorporated community on FM 2493 south of Tyler with its own post office (75762). No city permit office; septic placement and neighborhood rules usually shape where the pool goes.

Hideaway, TX

About 3,200 people in a mostly residential city that is also a gated community. Expect the community's own architectural approval as well as a permit.

Troup, TX

About 2,000 people in Smith and Cherokee counties. The USDA reference site for Kirvin, the red-clay soil common across the county, lies between here and Whitehouse.

Arp, TX

About 900 people southeast of Tyler. Rural lots around it often rely on septic, so map the tank and field before choosing the spot.

Noonday, TX

About 600 people in a small city south of Tyler. It is a separate city from Tyler, so ask Noonday what it requires before the dig.

Chandler, TX

About 3,300 people at the north end of Lake Palestine, in Henderson County. A different county and city office from Tyler.
